Iranian scientists receive awards for achievements in physics, mathematics and best patent
They received certificates and monetary rewards
In 2023, three Iranian scientists have been awarded outstanding awards by the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation (COMSTECH) of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). These awards recognise their exceptional contributions to physics, mathematics and innovation. This is reported by Tehran Times a partner of TV BRICS.
The Lifetime Contribution Prize in Physics was awarded to Yasaman Farzan, from the school of physics at the institute for research in fundamental sciences. The lifetime contribution prize in mathematics went to Saieed Akbari Feyzaabaadi, from the department of mathematical sciences at Sharif University of Technology. In addition, Somayyeh Koohi, from the department of computer engineering at Sharif University of Technology received the Best Patent Award.
According to the OIC COMSTECH, the awardees were selected through a rigorous peer-review process, highlighting their significant achievements in scientific knowledge and innovation both within OIC member countries and globally.
These objectives aim at developing collective competence in science and technology to address common challenges faced by the OIC Member States.
