Iranian Red Crescent Society is interested in leading BRICS Health Working Group

There was held a meeting with co-chair of the BRICS Civil Forum and the head of Iranian Red Crescent Society in Tehran

The Head of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) has expressed his intention to chair the BRICS Health Working Group. Pir-Hossein Koulivand met with the co-chair of the BRICS Civil Forum Alena Peryshkina. Iranian side presented the potential and achievements of ICS.

The IRCS, with 3 million volunteers and 70,000 professionals associated with it, regularly assists in emergencies. The organisation has helicopters, transport and first aid warehouses for rapid response to disasters.

Koulivand emphasised the IRCS humanitarian missions in different countries and the availability of medical facilities in different parts of the world to assist the people. This is reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

The BRICS representative noted the significant potential of the Iranian Red Crescent and supported its candidature for the role of the head of the working group on health within the framework of cooperation with the BRICS countries.
