Iran to participate in BRICS Parliamentary Forum
It will be held on 11-12 July
Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Speaker of the Iranian Parliament, will head an Iranian delegation from Tehran to St. Petersburg for the 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum. This will be the first time that a senior Iranian official will attend an open meeting of BRICS after Iran’s accession to the group. This is reported by

Ghalibaf’s visit to St. Petersburg is aimed at exploring BRICS opportunities for financial and commercial transactions. The forum, scheduled for 11-12 July 2024, will focus on the role of parliaments in strengthening international relations and promoting global development and security.
The 10th BRICS Parliamentary Forum will be held under Russia’s chairmanship in the association. The event will be held at the Tavrichesky Palace in St. Petersburg on 11-12 July 2024.
The forum will be opened by a plenary session on “The Parliamentary Dimension of BRICS: Prospects for Strengthening Inter-Parliamentary Co-operation”, followed by a ceremony of signing the protocol to the Memorandum of Understanding on the BRICS Parliamentary Forum.
The first day will be devoted to international politics and cooperation, the second to economics, and the third to humanitarian and cultural interaction.
