Iran to introduce digital currency into circulation

All you need to do to pay is scan a barcode

The Central Bank of Iran will put the digital rial into circulation in the Kish Island Free Trade Zone from July. This is stated in a statement published on the website of the authority.

According to the statement to continue the first phase of testing and further implementation of the digital rial on Kish Island, customers of the banking network from June will be able to make transactions or transfer funds to other customers’ wallets in a new way without using cash or bank cards.

They will only need to scan a barcode created by the relevant software. This is reported by
