Iran significantly raises salaries of medical students

The steps are aimed at improving nurses’ working conditions and motivation

Iran’s Health Ministry spokesman Abbas Ebadi announced an increase in the pay of medical students. Student work fees for final-year nursing students increased from 20,000 tomans (US$4,75) to 30,000 tomans (US$7) per hour.

The deputy minister emphasised that nursing students gain valuable practical experience and a significant part of the funding for their studies by working during their studies.

It is intended to express gratitude and support to students for their contribution to the country’s health care system. This is reported by
IRNA, a partner of TV BRICS.

Also, the deputy minister announced an increase in the coefficient for licensed professionals and nurses, which contributes to the growth of the number of nurses and the quality of services provided.

These steps are aimed at improving nurses’ working conditions and motivation, as well as ensuring equitable access to nursing services for all citizens.

These decisions are part of the government’s efforts to improve the nursing environment and recognise the valuable contribution nurses make to the country’s health care.
