Iran ranks second among Islamic nations for publications on 3D printing

Iran has achieved a milestone in scientific innovation, now ranking second among Islamic nations for publications on three-dimensional (3D) printing, according to the Web of Science database. This is reported by
Mehr News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.
Over the past decade, the country has published 606 documents on 3D printing, placing it 22nd globally in this rapidly evolving field. Leading institutions such as the University of Tehran and Amirkabir University of Technology each contributed 83 publications, while other universities played pivotal roles.
In addition to 3D printing, Iran has emerged as a global leader in neural network technology, ranking first among Islamic nations with 17,458 documents. It also holds top positions in artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, robotics, and multi-agent systems, showcasing significant growth over the last decade.
For instance, Iran’s publications on AI rose from 98 in 2014 to 647 in 2023, while contributions to machine learning increased from 81 to 1,656 during the same period.
