According to the Iranian customs office, the contry’s non-oil trade with its neighbours reached US$41.1 billion in the past seven months, representing an increase of 23 per cent. The total weight of this trade was 64.5 tonnes, growing by 16 per cent. This is reported by

Meanwhile, Sistan-Baluchestan province exported goods worth US$179 million, accounting for 1.96 million tonnes. Mohammad Ali Khashi, head of provincial customs, said exports rose 13 per cent by weight and 11 per cent by value. The main exported goods include clinker, cement, coal, as well as fruits and agricultural products.

According to Mohammad Mehdi Borumandi, Deputy for Horticultural Affairs of Iran’s Agriculture Jihad Ministry, Iran is the third largest producer of pomegranates in the world, behind only India and China, but is the leader in per capita pomegranate production.

Mohammad Ali Dehqan Naqavi, Deputy Minister of Industry, Mines and Trade considered the trade cooperation between the two countries at the highest level and added, “Iran Trade Promotion Organisation is interested in expansion and growth of constructive cooperation between Iran and China.”

According to Naqavi, Iran’s membership in BRICS and SCO will facilitate trade cooperation of the two countries.
