The secretary of Iran’s Food and Drug Administration’s (IFDA) export policymaking council, Asef Mahdavi, also mentioned that during the first four months of 2024, medical equipment exports rose by 300 per cent.
Prior to this, Haidar Mohammadi, head of IFDA, stated that 99 per cent of the medications used in Iran are made locally and that the country’s pharmaceutical business is valued at 106 trillion toumans, or more than US$2 billion.
