Iran and Russia strengthen mining partnership by establishing joint oversight committee

The committee will be responsible for overseeing project execution and decision-making processes

Iran and Russia are deepening their cooperation in the mining and mineral industries, with plans to establish a joint committee to oversee the implementation of their bilateral agreement, as reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.

Experts claim that the committee will include officials from Iran’s Ministry of Industry, Mining and Trade, the Geological Survey and Mineral Exploration Organisation, and Russian counterparts. The committee will be responsible for overseeing project execution and decision-making processes.

Iran and Russia’s joint efforts in exploration, coal mining, and mine safety have previously yielded positive results, and both sides are now finalising agreements for underground mineral exploration and extraction.

Additionally, both countries share expertise in steel production and metal industries, as reported by the source.

This strengthened strategic cooperation in mining is expected to drive further industrial development, leveraging the technological capabilities and natural resources of both nations.
