Iran and Russia discuss creation of gas hub in northern Iran
Russia and Iran are planning to expand cooperation in the energy sector. This was reported by
Tehran Times, a partner of TV BRICS.
Hossein-Ali Mohammad Hosseini, director of corporate planning at an Iranian national energy company, met with representatives of the relevant Russian ministry.
The two sides discussed trade, the establishment of a joint research centre as well as a gas hub in northern Iran.
Hossein-Ali pointed to the need to exchange experience in areas such as reducing gas losses and ensuring the safety of infrastructure facilities.
He added that Iran is ready to develop relations in the energy sector and said the republic welcomes the Russian Energy Ministry’s proposal to set up a specialised panel discussion in the field of digitisation, monitoring and data analysis.
The Russian officials agreed on the need to expand cooperation and explore the potential for coordination on key issues.
