Iran and China agree to cooperate in areas related to the environment through forming joint working group
Iranian head of the Department of Environment, Ali Salajeqeh, emphasised the importance of sharing information on environmental protection during a meeting with Chinese Minister of Ecology and Environment, Huang Runqiu. The two officials discussed organising future meetings to exchange experiences in this field. This is reported by

Salajeqeh noted China’s valuable experience in water management, combating deforestation and climate change, calling for the utilisation of joint capacity to address environmental challenges.
Huang Runqiu also referred to positive bilateral cooperation aimed at addressing environmental issues. He noted that the agreement signed in 2012 laid the foundation for future co-operation.
According to Salajeqeh , holding this meeting is of high importance for Iran as environmental diplomacy is one of the priorities of the country’s foreign policy.
