International observers at meeting with head of Moscow City Duma shared their impressions of organisation of Russian presidential election

Experts from 129 countries followed the voting process

Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexey Shaposhnikov met with international observers of the Russian presidential election. The event took place at the Public Headquarters in Moscow.

Delegations of international observers from Serbia and Argentina highly appreciated the work of public institutions of control, advanced digital technologies of electoral processes and unprecedented consolidation of society. A total of 1,115 representatives from 129 countries came to Russia to observe the voting process.

“I would like to express my gratitude for their interest in Russia, for their honesty and courage. I join the chairman of the Central Election Commission, Ella Pamfilova, who expressed words of respect for international observers. You have come to get objective information about the elections,” said the Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, a partner of TV BRICS.

“Moscow has been and remains an international city. As the capital’s parliament, we cooperate with colleagues from many countries around the world, monitor the processes taking place in the electoral systems of other states, and try to take into account this experience in the formation of our legislation. In the Public Headquarters you can see representatives of all political forces observing online what is happening at each polling station. For several years already the participants of voting have practically no claims to the course of elections, the rights of all are observed,” the chairman of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Legislation, Regulations, Rules and Procedures Alexander Semennikov stated.

International observers were interested in technological innovations, the Moscow election standard, and shared their impressions of what they had seen in different regions of Russia.

Lucas Adrian Garcia, vice-president of the Centre for Integration and Cooperation between Russia and Latin America and head of the delegation of observers from Argentina in Russia, noted that according to his observations in Vladivostok, the level of security provided at the elections was high.

Alexey Shaposhnikov noted that the Public Headquarters has been providing observation of voting at all levels of elections in the capital for more than 10 years.

“Moscow confidently observes the standard of elections created and established in the capital for many election cycles. It is ensured, first of all, by a high level of observation. In the Russian presidential election, Muscovites actively vote through the Remote electronic voting system, which has no analogues in any country in the world,” added the head of the Moscow City Duma.
