International community condemns terrorist attacks in Dagestan

According to the latest official figures, 15 police officers and 4 civilians were killed. Information is being updated

On 23 June, a series of terrorist attacks took place in the cities of Makhachkala and Derbent in the Russian Republic of Dagestan: assailants opened fire on a synagogue, two Orthodox churches, and a traffic police post. A criminal case has been opened under Article 205 of the Russian Criminal Code (terrorist act).

24, 25 and 26 June were declared mourning days in the republic.

The authorities of the BRICS and SCO countries condemned the terrorist attacks. Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning expressed condolences to the victims and relatives of the victims. This is reported by

Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanani condemned the actions of the attackers in Dagestan.

Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev said the republic favours the development of multilateral cooperation in the fight against terrorism under the auspices of the UN, the SCO and other international organisations. He expressed condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the incident in Dagestan.

Leader of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Japarov also condemned the terrorist attack. They sent telegrams to Vladimir Putin with words of support.
