Former Finance Minister and South African Reserve Bank Governor Tito Mboweni, popularly known as The Duke of the Duchy of Makgobaskloof, passed away on Saturday following a brief illness.

Social media has been abuzz since Mboweni’s death was announced by his family.

Tributes have poured in from President Cyril Ramaphosa, the international community, political affiliates, celebrities, and ordinary citizens, as well as from various sectors of business and entertainment, on the different social media platforms.
