India’s president: women-entrepreneurs have changed the Indian business environment
President of India Droupadi Murmu said that women-entrepreneurs have changed the Indian business environment. The head of the state was speaking at an event where a group of women-founders and co-founders of leading startups were present.
Murmu stressed that the Start-up India programme was launched to harness the potential of the country’s youth and to strengthen the entrepreneurial environment.
The politician expressed appreciation for women entrepreneurs. She said that their innovative efforts have made India the third largest startup ecosystem in the world with around 117,000 startups and over a hundred ‘unicorns’. She also urged women-entrepreneurs to support their colleagues in this endeavour. This is reported by the
