India’s G20 Sherpa endorses group’s priorities for current year
He supported the agenda of the Brazilian presidency
India’s Sherpa to G20 Amitabh Kant attended the virtual meeting of G20 Sherpas under the Brazilian presidency. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.
Kant expressed support for Brazil’s stance on reducing social and economic inequalities in society and emphasised the importance of addressing gender issues, developing digital health.
“Amitabh Kant today participated in the second Sherpa meeting under the Brazilian Chairmanship. He expressed support for this year’s main challenges to reduce inequality and emphasised on women-led action, digital health, creative economy, talent mobility and multilateral development bank reforms,” Indian External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal wrote in a social media post.
Brazil holds the G20 presidency from 1 December 2023 to 30 November 2024. A summit of the group’s leaders is scheduled to be held in Rio de Janeiro on 18-19 November.
