The Global Climate Change Summit represents the upper echelon of the 28th Conference of Parties (COP-28) organized by the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), scheduled to take place from November 28 to December 12.
This event presents a unique opportunity to mobilize joint efforts in tackling the shared challenge of climate change, according to diplomatic sources.
According to an official statement, Narendra Modi announced five specific objectives known as “Panchamrit” during COP26 in Glasgow as India’s contribution to the international endeavors aimed at mitigating climate change.
Additionally, the Prime Minister introduced the Lifestyle for Environment mission during the same occasion.
Addressing climate change is a top priority of India’s G20 presidency, which has materialized in noteworthy measures articulated in the Delhi Declaration, issued following the G20 summit in the Indian capital on September 9th and 10th of this year, along with other notable outcomes, as explained in the note.
