Indian President emphasises partnership between New Delhi and Moscow
Chairman of the Russian State Duma Vyacheslav Volodin arrived on an official visit to India, where he met with the country’s President Droupadi Murmu. This was reported by the
press service of the Russian State Duma.
Murmu noted the special nature of the partnership between the two countries and stressed that the Indian leadership attaches great importance to building up trade and economic ties and developing socio-cultural dialogue with Russia.
“I have recently opened a book fair in New Delhi, where Russia is also a participant. This gives Indian readers a great opportunity to learn more about Russian literature. We should encourage such cultural ties”

In addition, the Volodin met with the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha of the Parliament, Vice President of the Republic Jagdeep Dhankhar, reports
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS. The sides noted the high level of Russian-Indian ties.
“Over the past five years, bilateral trade has increased fivefold and continues to grow: from January to November 2024, it increased by 15 per cent. This will bring only benefits to our citizens and our countries”

The Indian Vice President also pointed out that countries are coordinating their positions on platforms such the United Nations (UN), BRICS, G20, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) to jointly address global challenges.
