Indian Minister of Foreign Affairs Jaishankar holds a meeting with Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Bin Ibrahim
The officials discussed a range of bilateral issues
During the meeting, Anwar Bin Ibrahim expressed appreciation for India’s support for deepening bilateral relations under the Enhanced Strategic Partnership between the two countries.
The Indian Foreign Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar also held a dialogue with his counterpart Utama Haji Mohamad Bin Haji Hasan on bilateral cooperation including politics, trade and economy, defence, digital technology, culture and education, and exchanged views on issues of regional and global interest. “A productive round-table meeting with CEOs in Malaysia. Glad to hear about growing interest in partnering with Indian industries. Encouraged them to join in India’s growth story. Discussed geopolitical developments that can provide more opportunities in business interactions,” the Indian minister noted on social media.
After meeting Gobind Singh Deo, Minister for Digital Technology of Malaysia, Jaishankar participated in a roundtable discussion with CEOs and industry leaders.
As part of his programme in Malaysia, the Indian Foreign Secretary interacted with members of the diaspora, whom he praised for their contribution to the ties between the two countries.
For New Delhi, Malaysia is a key partner in the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and in the government’s foreign policy towards the region.
