India to host third Voice of the Global South summit

Participants will exchange views and priorities on a wide range of issues on a common platform

The meeting, which will take place in a virtual format and will focus on the common theme of “An Empowered Global South for a Sustainable Future”, reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner TV BRICS, citing a statement from India’s Ministry of External Affairs.

The source mentioned the importance of discussing food and energy security, as well as climate change.

At the summit, countries of the Global South will also continue to discuss their priorities and solutions, especially in the area of development.

Like the previous two summits, the summit will consist of a leaders’ session and ministerial sessions and will open at the level of Heads of State and Government under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

There will also be sessions of Foreign Ministers on “Charting a Unique Paradigm for Global South”, Health Ministers on “One World-One Health”, Youth Ministers on “Youth Engagement for a Better Future”, and others.

India held the first and second summits on 12-13 January and 17 November 2023, both in a virtual format.

Representatives from over 100 countries attended these events, and the contributions of developing country leaders were reflected in the agenda and discussions, as well as in the final declaration of the G-20 Summit chaired by India last year.
