India successfully pilots new format of entrance tests for future doctors

Students in this country are eager to enrol in Russian universities

The Russian House in Chennai, in cooperation with Kazan State Medical University, has become a pilot testing centre for those wishing to pursue medical education in Russia. The applicants tested their knowledge of chemistry and English in the presence of two observers: Aleksander Dodonov, Director of Russian House in Chennai, and Timur Akhmetov, assistant professor of the Kazan State Medical University.

This year, Kazan State Medical University has modified the entrance exam process for international students in accordance with the requirements of the Russian Ministry of Education by switching to a centralised online test format.

Russian universities continue to be one of the most popular choices for Indian youth seeking medical education abroad. The number of students from the South Asian country studying medicine at educational institutions under the Russian Ministry of Health has increased by 205 per cent in eight years.
