India sends active pharmaceutical ingredients to Cuba for manufacturing medicines
The consignment, which left Gujarat’s Mundra port on Sunday, will be used by Cuban drug manufacturers to produce essential antibiotics in the form of dosage forms of tablets, capsules, syrups and injections required for the treatment of chronic infectious diseases.
The Asian country’s Ministry of External Affairs stressed that the initiative reaffirms India’s status as a world power in the field of pharmaceuticals and underlines its commitment to developing relations with Cuba, whose formal diplomatic relations with Cuba will be 65 years old in 2025. This is reported by
Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.
It may be recalled that India supplied 524 boxes of life-saving medicines to Cuba during the first wave of the Covid-19 pandemic in November 2020. India has also supplied rice under the short-term loan scheme in 2022-2023.
