India participates in the first meeting of the G20 Working Group on Education chaired by Brazil
Representatives of the Asian country emphasised the importance of innovative teaching processes
During the first meeting of the Education Working Group (EdWG) chaired by Brazil at the G20, the Indian delegation said the government is committed to reforms in the field of education.
The Asian country emphasised the importance of capacity building of professionals in the field, innovative teaching processes, and the need to make learning through technology more inclusive and of higher quality. The delegation noted the crucial role of education in achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially through the LiFE (Lifestyle for Environment) initiative.
After exchanging views on priorities, the Indian delegation, comprising senior ministry officials, presented the country’s best practices in education.
Under the EdWG track, Brazil identified the following priority topics for discussion at the meeting:
Capacity building of education professionals: what we can do together;
Bringing together digital resource platform managers: sharing educational materials on education for sustainable development;
The G20 Award for School-Community Engagement.
