India launches hydrogen-fuelled vessel

It is a part of India’s strategy to develop green energy and alternative fuels

A historic ceremony was held in India to launch the first environmentally friendly hydrogen fuel cell-powered inland waterway vessel.

Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi said the vessel was a gift from the people of Tamil Nadu and a symbol of the region’s progress. Apart from this, Modi also laid stones and dedicated several other development projects to the nation, including a container terminal, railway projects and road projects.

The development projects are not just for Tamil Nadu but for the entire country and aim to improve transport infrastructure and create jobs. President Modi also inaugurated several other projects aimed at developing a green hydrogen port in Chidambaranar. He also expressed confidence that the proposed projects will boost tourism and trade in the region. This is reported by
ANI, a partner of TV BRICS.

The development projects are being implemented with a multi-modal approach combining railway, road and maritime projects. With a whole-of-government approach to the development of the country, Prime Minister Modi believes that the implementation of these projects will contribute to the development of the whole of India.
