India increases coal production
India’s total coal production increased by 7.2 per cent to 90.62 million tonnes in November this year from 84.52 million tonnes in the same month last year.
Coal production from own and other sources showed a remarkable growth at 17.13 million tonnes in November 2024, up 37.69 per cent from 12.44 million tonnes in November 2023.
During the period from the beginning of FY 2024-25 to November 2024, the total coal production stood at 628.03 million tonnes, up 6.21 per cent from 591.32 million tonnes in the same period of the previous fiscal year.
Total coal dispatches during the period stood at 657.75 million tonnes, up 5.45 per cent year-on-year (623.78 million tonnes). This is reported by

Earlier, India hosted its first auction of offshore mineral blocks, an initiative of the Ministry of Mines.
