Ethiopia to set up council to track country’s digital development measures
Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed has announced the government’s progress on the country’s digital transformation and plans to set up a special council to oversee the issue. This is reported by
ENA.
The politician gave an interim review of the Digital Ethiopia 2025 strategy. He said the country is on a steady path to realising the initiative but investments are required to support innovators. The Prime Minister said reliable power supply, data infrastructure as well as a good level of cyber security are contributing to its realisation.
Abiy Ahmed reminded that Digital Ethiopia 2025 is part of Ethiopia’s reform agenda, the national ten-year plan and the African Union’s continental digital transformation strategy.
Earlier, it was reported that the country opened the largest business incubator focused on information and communication technology (ICT).
