Ethiopia plants 10 million hectares using the cluster farming method

Maize, teff, wheat, and similar crops make up a significant portion of the crops sown

Ethiopia has sown more than 10 million hectares of land using the cluster farming method for 2024. This is part of Ethiopia’s Ministry of Agriculture’s plan, which aims to harvest 613 million quintals of crops. This is reported by
Fana Broadcasting Corporate (FBC), a partner of TV BRICS.

So far, 19.2 million hectares of arable land have been cultivated, of which 17.7 million hectares are under various crops, including maize, teff, wheat, and other important food crops for Ethiopia.

According to Esayas Lemma, head of the Crop Development Directorate at the Ministry of Agriculture, the crops are in good condition, and even those sown late are already starting to flower. In regions where the rains will come later, sowing will continue.
