Egypt’s North Coast attracts investment and boosts tourism growth

July and August saw a significant influx of both domestic and foreign tourism

Egypt’s northern coast is poised to take the lead in sustainable tourism through the development of New Alamein City, according to Mohamed Kaoud, Former Head of the Tourism and Aviation Committee at the Egyptian Junior Business Association.

Located in one of the best coastal areas in the country, Alamein is attracting significant investment and interest from both domestic and international investors, according to Kaoud. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

Kaoud added that private sector involvement in the development of the North Coast should expand the tourism offerings beyond beach holidays and leisure activities, which now account for 85 per cent of the region’s total tourist traffic.

Regarding the booking environment on the North Coast, Kaoud confirmed that July and August saw a significant influx of both domestic and foreign tourism.

Kaoud also praised the government’s approach to maximising the benefits of yacht tourism on the North Coast through collaboration with the private sector. Four to five marinas are currently under construction in the region, which should attract large yachts to the coast.
