Egypt’s garment industry exports up 25 per cent in first two months of 2024

Sales of the industry’s products to Saudi Arabia increased by 90 per cent

Marie-Louis Bishara, President of the Readymade Garment Export Council, announced a 25 per cent increase in garment industry exports in the first two months of 2024, with profits from overseas shipments of goods produced by the industry reaching US$464 million compared to US$371 million in the same period of 2023.

The Council expressed gratitude for the implementation of the initiative of the country’s authorities to support enterprises in fulfilling their fixed export commitments. This is reported by

Marie-Louis Bishara gave examples of export growth by region and country. For example, the volume of supplies to European countries grew by 42 per cent, amounting to US$107 million in monetary terms, compared to US$75 million in the same period last year. Exports to Saudi Arabia soared by 90 per cent to US$25 million compared to US$13 million.
