Egyptian poultry farms to install solar panels

The government has announced a partial transition of such farms to renewable energy sources

Egypt’s Ministers of Energy and Agriculture Mahmoud Essmat and Alaa Farouk have announced plans to install solar panels on poultry farms across the country. This is reported by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of the TV BRICS.

The heads of the agencies held a meeting focusing on optimising electricity supply to poultry farms and complying with regulations.

The ministers reviewed the distribution of poultry farms in the country and the location of energy sources for them. A new proposal has been made to install solar panels on such farms.

Private farm owners are also planned to be encouraged to shift to renewable energy sources through financial incentives.

Agriculture Minister Farouk added that the ministry she heads aims to attract funds to the poultry sector, as well as fulfil the basic needs of citizens for the products of this sector – meat, eggs and others.
