Egypt is geared towards green development goals

Egyptian authorities will incorporate technology to promote better practices for the environment

Egyptian Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly ratified several amendments in the national Environment Law directed at reviewing, updating and enhancing environmental procedures, which intend to promote ecosystem protection, climate control and emergency plans against natural disasters. The information was announced by
Daily News Egypt, a partner of TV BRICS.

Some of the most pivotal changes include reviews of environmental studies and their supplements, higher incorporation of specialists in the field, such as scientists and consultants, as well as the implementation of more advanced digital technology in the registry system to facilitate monitoring procedures.

Another key aspect of the Egyptian leadership agenda states that the Board of Directors of the Environmental Affairs Agency will now oversee the entity’s work plans and programs, pushing forward experimental projects, environmental training policies, and other guidelines.

According to one of the amendments, the agency may also consult specialized organizations, universities and research centers to assess the environmental impact of potential establishments seeking licenses.
