Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) leader Julius Malema says the party’s third National People’s Assembly theme is defending, rebuilding and advancing the struggle for economic freedom.
For the first time since its formation in 2013, the party suffered its first electoral decline after the formation of the uMkhonto weSizwe (MK) Party.
The EFF dealt another blow ahead of its electoral conference when its former Deputy President Floyd Shivambu and former national chairperson Dali Mpofu left to join the MK Party.
EFF Elective Conference | EFF vows not to lose focus on state control:
Malema delivered the EFF political report on Friday at the party’s elective conference at the Expo Centre in Nasrec, south of Johannesburg.
“At this third National Assembly, we are faced with a new moment where the EFF experienced its first electoral decline and suffered unprecedented levels of sabotage and infiltration. It is for this reason delegates that the theme for this National People’s Assembly is defend, rebuild and advance the struggle for economic freedom because for the first time the revolution is under a genuine threat of disruption that risks delaying our freedom for generations to come.”
