‘EFF will not shed a tear for Gordhan’

The Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) says it will not be shedding a tear for former Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan. Gordhan passed away in hospital on Friday morning after a battle with cancer.

EFF National Spokesperson Leigh-Ann Mathys says Gordhan’s legacy is one of failure, exploitation and corruption.

“Ramaphosa appointed him as the Public Enterprises minister in 2018 and this was supposed to signal a clean-up role at the state-owned enterprises. However, the clean-up was an orchestrated destruction of South Africa’s most critical assets. The infamous South African Airways sale remains one of the most scandalous examples of how he sold out our nation’s assets for private interests.”
