Dubai Forum celebrates 40 years of diplomatic relations between the UAE and China

The event brought together more than 400 leaders from political, business, academic and media circles

The Dubai Forum was held under the theme “40 Years Together for New Developments” and aimed to explore opportunities for greater cooperation between the two countries. This is reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The one-day event featured three main sessions on the themes of New Energy, New Generation and New Media, discussing innovative strategies for mutual cooperation and sustainable growth.

In his remarks, Zhang Yiming, Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to the UAE emphasised that bilateral relations are currently at a historic high, highlighted by high-level visits such as President Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s visit to China in May and Premier Li Qiang’s visit to the UAE in September.

He noted that trade between the UAE and China exceeded US$50 billion in the first half of 2024, and projections suggest it could exceed US$100 billion by the end of the year.

Mona Al Marri, Vice Chairwoman and Managing Director of the Dubai Media Council, said the forum serves as a crucial platform to strengthen cooperation between the UAE and China, highlighting the role of media in promoting global dialogue.
