Disaster management event opens in India
More than 30 nations, including Cuba, are represented at the 6th International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure
Leading the group at the two-day gathering of specialists and foreign organisations seeking a shared approach is Luis Macareno, the second chief of the National General Staff of the Civil Defence of Cuba. This is reported by

Under the theme “Investing for a more resilient tomorrow,” Cuba is taking part in the event for the first time. The goal of the project is to create a road map with suggestions for securing funding from the public and commercial sectors to lessen the effects of natural disasters.
According to the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI), the primary actor in the event, high-level remarks on the significance of matching investments with climate adaptation, catastrophe risk reduction, and sustainable development set the tone.
Additionally, the Cuban delegation took part in the fifth meeting of the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (CDRI) Governance Council on April 22.
During the discussion, Macareno reaffirmed Cuba’s readiness to impart its knowledge of preventing natural disasters from harming people and property. The leader of the Cuban delegation reaffirmed that his nation is ready to share it and simultaneously benefit from the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure’s experience.
In addition to expressing gratitude for being a member of this significant organisation, Macareno also thanked the Government of India and CDRI for inviting him to the Governing Council and the 6th International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure.
