Conference in Moscow to discuss application of knowledge in neurobiology for teaching Russian as foreign language

The event will be attended by pedagogues of educational institutions and researchers

On 31 May, Moscow will host the international scientific and practical conference “Modern view of teaching Russian as a foreign language: neuroaspects”. Its participants and guests will consider methods of teaching Russian using neuro-linguo-didactics.

Experts will tell what digital neuro-pedagogy is and how to apply modern technologies in the learning process. The event will be of interest to teachers who teach Russian to children and adults in Russia and abroad, as well as teachers of secondary schools working in multicultural classes. Additional education teachers, bilingual speech therapists, neuropsychologists, and university professors will also find useful information.

The conference will be attended by pedagogical staff of pre-school, general and higher education institutions, researchers, postgraduate and master’s students. Tamara Skok, Director of the Department of Innovative Linguistic Projects at TV BRICS, will speak at the event about the experience of the media network and the international project “Modern Russian” in conducting linguocountry teleconferences with foreign universities implementing RFL programmes.

“The breadth of contacts of the TV BRICS International Media Network, which has more than fifty media partners in Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, as well as in Argentina, Venezuela, Cuba, Zimbabwe, Mozambique, Kazakhstan, Armenia and other countries, makes it possible to address the issues of promoting the Russian language and culture in the BRICS+ media space: TV programmes, videos and documentaries about Russia are systematically broadcast and published on the platforms of foreign media partners of the TV BRICS in Russian dubbing with subtitles in national languages. In this way, the international project ‘Modern Russian’ and TV BRICS fulfil another objective – to broaden the foreign community’s understanding of Russia’s distinctive regions, which is especially important in today’s social and political context. For the same purpose, TV BRICS and its member project ‘Modern Russian’ are building cooperation with leading national universities of the BRICS+ countries, Russian language learning centres, international public organisations and government agencies,” said Tamara Skok.

The main directions of the forum:

RFL methodology: traditions and innovations;
neuro-linguo-didactics in RFL and bilingualism: methods, techniques, technologies;
digital technologies and distance learning in RFL;
specifics of teaching Russian to bilingual children.
