An archaeological mission has made important discoveries at the Temple of Taposiris Magna, located west of Alexandria. Excavations under the southern wall of the temple’s outer perimeter revealed foundations containing many funerary and ritual objects dating to the late Ptolemaic period. 

Mohamed Ismail Khaled, secretary general of the Supreme Council of Antiquities (SCA), reported some key finds, including a white marble statue of a woman with a royal crown and a half statue of a king wearing a Nemes headdress. This us reported by

The mission also found 337 coins, most of which contain an image of Queen Cleopatra VII, as well as ritual pottery, oil lamps, limestone containers, bronze statues and a number of other artefacts. Among the finds were a bronze ring dedicated to the goddess Hathor. 

The excavation uncovered a large tomb with 20 chambers and another tomb beneath the ancient lighthouse of Taposiris Magna. The latter find contained three chambers, one of which contained nine half-height marble statues and various artefacts.
