China’s Heilongjiang Province’s trade volume with BRICS countries exceeds 200 billion yuan

Trade turnover grew by 11.7 per cent

In the first 10 months of 2024, northeast China’s Heilongjiang Province’s trade volume with foreign countries totalled 257.98 billion yuan (US$35.5 billion), up 6.6 per cent year-on-year. This us reported by

According to Harbin Customs, exports totalled 68.51 billion yuan (US$9,.3 billion), up 14.5 per cent year-on-year. The value of imports reached 189.47 billion yuan (US$26.08 billion), up 4 per cent year-on-year.

It is noted that trade turnover with member states of Beijing’s One Belt, One Road infrastructure and economic initiative exceeded 224 billion yuan (US$30.83 billion). These countries supplied 173.48 billion yuan (US$23.88 billion) worth of goods to the Heilongjiang market, 16.6 per cent more than a year earlier, while importing 50.6 billion yuan (US$6.96 billion), 7.7 per cent less than in 2023.

In turn, trade with BRICS countries rose 11.7 per cent to 204.89 billion yuan (US$2808 billion) this year. Consumers in Heilongjiang province bought 170 billion yuan (US$27.4 bllion) worth of foreign products, while local manufacturers supplied goods worth 34.36 billion yuan (US$4.73 billion) to the markets of the group. Imports and exports grew by 8.7 per cent and 29.26 per cent respectively.
