China organises event for more than 70 poets from BRICS countries

Poets have gathered in Hangzhou, in east China’s Zhejiang Province, to take part in the activity

China is hosting an international poetry festival bringing together more than 70 young poets from BRICS countries. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

The festival, organised by the China Writers Association, takes place in Hangzhou and Beijing, where participants will be able to socialise, share their work, and take part in literary discussions.

The festival aims to strengthen cultural connections between the BRICS countries, show the diversity of poetic styles, and emphasise the importance of friendship between different cultures.

The festival is an extension of the historic Chinese Youth Poetry Festival, which has taken place every year since 1980.

The organisers hope that poetry will become a bridge for mutual understanding between people of different countries, promoting peace and cooperation.
