China develops modern AI therapist and disaster early warning system

These designs are examples of the rapid development of artificial intelligence in China

Two new developments in artificial intelligence were unveiled at the 2024 World Computing Conference held in central China. This is reported by
Xinhua News Agency, a partner of TV BRICS.

One is an AI therapist that can answer questions about mental health, conduct mental health assessments, and determine a person’s emotions from facial expressions using a mobile phone camera. It can also provide traditional Chinese medicine language diagnosis and exercise recommendations to achieve improved balance and harmony in the body.

The new models are expected to help doctors combine data from medical examinations and disease cases and treat patients more effectively.

China has also designed a disaster monitoring and early warning platform capable of warning of mudslides and landslides more than three hours before they occur. The software allows early warnings to be sent via radio and text messages.

The platform uses high-precision sensors and a navigation system. To date, the development has been applied in more than 10 provinces in China.

According to official statistics, China’s computer industry will reach about US$370 billion in 2022.
