China becomes the main supplier of cars to Latin American countries
The share of exports of the industry’s goods has grown by more than 15 per cent over the last 10 years
China has overtaken Brazil to become the largest exporter of cars to Latin America. In ten years, China’s share in the region jumped from 4.6 to 21.2 per cent. This is reported by
Brasil 247, a partner of TV BRICS.
In Brazil, the figure fell from 22.5 to 19.4 per cent.
The National Association of Automobile Manufacturers lowered its forecast for the fall in foreign sales in 2023.
420,000 vehicles, including cars, trucks and buses, are expected to be delivered this year.
That volume is 12.7 per cent lower than in 2022 and, barring a larger drop in the two peak years of the pandemic, returns to 2015 export volumes.
