Brazil’s largest literary festival kicks off in Rio de Janeiro

Fifteen international authors are participating in the event

The Paraty International Literary Festival (Flip) in Rio de Janeiro, the most important literary festival in Brazil, kicks off with a diverse programme and a celebration of writer, journalist and playwright Paulo Barreto (1881-1921).

This year’s fair will feature 35 invited authors, including 15 foreign authors. This is rerpoted by Prensa Latina, a partner of TV BRICS.

The 22nd edition of the event will also foster debate on topical issues.

“At this event, we also wanted to discuss current issues such as climate change and artificial intelligence,” said Ana Lima, curator of Flip.

The Flip exhibition, which runs until 13 October, this year seeks to bring the plurality of visions and sensibilities of the contemporary world to the centre of discussions.
