Brazilian passenger traffic reaches historic high

Of particular note is international traffic, which reached 2.7 million passengers in January, a 15.2 per cent increase over the same period in 2024. This is the highest ever recorded for a month since 2000. This is reported by the official
website of the Brazilian Government.
The domestic market also saw a positive trend, with 8.6 million passengers carried, 5.3 per cent more than in January of the previous year. Demand for domestic flights grew by 7 per cent, while supply increased by 7.4 per cent.
When domestic and international flights are added together, total passenger traffic in January 2025 was 11.3 million, up 7.5 per cent from the same period last year.
In January 2025, air cargo traffic also posted a strong performance. International cargo handled reached 65,100 tonnes, up 6.9 per cent from January 2024.
