Brazilian municipality celebrates World Environment Week

World Environment Day is celebrated on 5 June

The Municipality of Marica will be holding a series of activities from 4 to 9 June to celebrate World Environment Day, which takes place on 5 June. The initiative of the Secretariat of the Sustainable City includes programme exhibitions, workshops, lectures .

The programme also includes walking and planting saplings with students from the Marica Mais Esporte project.

The week of activities will conclude on Sunday, 9 June, with an exhibition of the fauna and flora of Marica. The activities will take place in partnership with the Tourism Secretariat. This is reported by

In 1972, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) passed a resolution, designating 5 June as World Environment Day. The first World Environment Day was celebrated in 1973 with the theme “Only One Earth”.
