Beijing launches helicopter tours to the Great Wall of China
Tourists can choose from three routes
A helicopter tour has been launched to the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall in Beijing, allowing tourists to get a bird’s eye view of the World Heritage Site.
Tourists can choose from three routes, with helicopters running from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. every day, according to the Changping district government. Besides Juyongguan, the other two routes offer views of mountain valleys as well as Ming tombs.
The routes take three, five and fifteen minutes and charge 298 yuan (US$42 dollars), 398 yuan (US$56 dollars) and 888 yuan (US$ 125 dollars) respectively.
The Great Wall of China, with a total length of over 20,000 kilometres, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and consists of many interconnected sites. There are a total of 520 kilometres of sections on the territory of Beijing, and Juyongguan is located about 60 kilometres from the city centre. This is reported by
