African National Congress (ANC) First Deputy Secretary-General Nomvula Mokonyane says the party’s renewal programme in KwaZulu-Natal is on track.
She says the disbandment of the Provincial Executive Committee (PEC) does not mean leaders will be expelled from the ANC.
Mokonyane says the disbandment is part of the party’s renewal programme.
She was speaking at KwaCaluza Sports Field in Pietermaritzburg where the party’s KwaZulu-Natal 113th anniversary celebrations are under way.
“We must remind everybody that no one in the PEC of KZN or GP is expelled from the ANC and there is no intention to chase anyone, but the intention is renewal. We want to renew ourselves and we will always come with interventions that help us grow and help us to be better and that also help us to understand KZN and GP in terms of their own dynamics and the capacity of our structures in the two provinces,” she says.
