ANC President optimistic about state of the party in Limpopo

African National Congress (ANC) President Cyril Ramaphosa says he is encouraged and feeling optimistic about the state of the party in Limpopo.

He was speaking during the extended provincial executive committee gathering held in Polokwane last night.

Ramaphosa also briefed the committee on the National Executive Committee’s decisions, particularly the renewal program, aimed at strengthening the organisation.

Ramaphosa says the renewal program will now include a foundational course for all members, from the National Executive Committee to provincial and branch levels.

“I also took time to brief them about the decisions of the National Executive Committee, particularly on our renewal program, but more importantly, to brief them about the recent decision of the NEC, to ensure that we all embark on a foundational course as members of the ANC right from members of the National Executive Committee, provincial executive committee, and all Members, indeed and how all of us must participate in that course as the process of renewing the ANC and strengthening it.”

Ramaphosa has acknowledged the service delivery challenges in Limpopo, especially the shortage of water, saying it is being addressed.

“I was also briefed about the many challenges that our people are facing here, particularly the issue of water, which was pointedly raised by our provincial chairperson, our provincial secretary, and their input to me and urging us at national level to give closer and urgent attention to the issue of water.”
