News just in is that AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister the Reverend Thulasizwe Buthelezi has been removed from his position with immediate effect.
Buthelezi assumed the role at the beginning of this year.
A statement signed by King MisuZulu ka Zwelithini has called on the AmaZulu to unite in support of the process to appoint a successor.
Earlier this year, the ANC in KwaZulu-Natal reiterated its position that it did not recognize the position of AmaZulu Traditional Prime Minister held by Buthelezi.
This as public spat over an incident during which Chairperson S’boniso Duma disrupted Buthelezi as he was speaking during the 110th Commemoration of King Dinizulu. His actions had drawn criticism from various quarters.
The party’s provincial leadership had said it would pay a visit to the AmaZulu Monarch King Misuzulu kaZwelithini to offer their apologies to him, President Cyril Ramaphosa and Premier Nomusa Dube-Ncube, but would not apologize to Buthelezi.
