Abu Dhabi launches Art of Mangrove competition to help preserve these plants

The competition aims to raise awareness of the importance of mangroves

The Environment Agency Abu Dhabi (EAD) has announced the launch of the Art of Mangrove competition for schoolchildren in the emirate. The competition is timed to coincide with the International Mangrove Conservation and Restoration Conference, which will be held in Abu Dhabi from 10-12 December. This is reported by
Emirates News Agency (WAM), a partner of TV BRICS.

The competition aims to inspire young artists and raise awareness of the importance of mangroves and the need to conserve them. The international conference, in turn, aims to develop innovative solutions to protect and restore these important trees.

As part of the project, students can create a mangrove protection model that will be a useful tool for planting trees, cleaning up pollution, or monitoring tree health. The organising schools will hold an internal competition to select the top three participants, and it is important that all projects submitted are in line with the main themes of the conference and include elements of creativity. All works should use environmentally friendly materials, preferably recyclable.

The works of schoolchildren made within the framework of the competition will be evaluated by a jury from EAD.
