Zimbabwean Vice President Constantino Chiwenga attends business conference in Iran
Zimbabwe and Iran foster closer economic relations
Constantino Chiwenga participated the Second Iran-Africa International Economic Conference. This was reported by
ZBC News, a partner of TV BRICS.
Zimbabwe’s ambassador to Iran, Bright Kupemba, and Iran’s Minister of Cooperatives, Labour, and Social Security, Solat Mortazavi, greeted him at Mehrabad International Airport.
It is anticipated that around forty African nations would be represented at the four-day conference, which is an indication of Iran’s renewed commitment to fostering economic ties with the continent.
The topics of discussion will be increasing commerce, looking into investment opportunities, and encouraging cooperation across industries.
The presence of Vice President Chiwenga demonstrates Zimbabwe’s dedication to enhancing its trade relations with Iran.
During Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi’s state visit to Zimbabwe last year, twelve Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) in various sectors, including agriculture and health, were inked.
The forthcoming conference will offer a forum for expanding on existing accords and investigating novel prospects for collaboration. Both countries have demonstrated a willingness and desire to develop mutually beneficial trade and co-operation.
